Louise has had a life-long interest in both art and nature, and in recent years has focused on embroidery, taking a foundation degree in Stitched Textiles. She participates in a number of groups and continues exploring the endless possibilities of textile art.
Capturing the essence of nature and working with the textures of natural materials is very important in her work, as is the rhythm of stitching. She enjoys discovering different ways of painting and dyeing on cloth or paper, building layer upon layer, and working into the surface by hand using a variety of techniques.
Louise took part in the Salisbury Art Trail 2018 – including exhibits at Salisbury Arts Centre and the library. Recent exhibitions have included the Knitting & Stitching Show in London, Harrogate and Dublin 2016, From the Earth in Hertfordshire 2016/17, History Through the Eye of a Needle at Salisbury Museum 2017, and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey 2015, 2017, 2018
